On November 18-20 of this year, a new art festival,Connect, will be gracing the streets of Hyde Park. DNA Info reports that ” after the Silver Room’s block party attracted nearly 16,000 people to Hyde Park in July to see more than 50 musical acts, the University of Chicago offered to foot the bill for a second festival in the fall.”.
Kudos to organizer Eric Williams for committing himself to making the neighborhood a place where the arts are able to thrive. The festival will be using vacant storefronts as as galleries for the weekend in a genius display of creative ingenuity. I know one blogger who will definitely be in attendance.
